YOUTH
YOUTH SHOWS
Agri-Expo’s involvement with Youth Shows dates back to 1999, when we took the initiative to establish the Western Cape Agricultural Youth Association and the National Agricultural Youth Association.
Today, Agri-Expo continues to support the Western Cape Agricultural Youth Association as a sponsor, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture: Western Cape.
The Western Cape Agricultural Youth Association is an independent organisation that is dedicated to promoting agriculture among young people in the Western Cape through youth shows. For more information, visit https://youngfarmers.co.za/.
AGRICULTURAL SCHOOLS
Agri-Expo maintains a longstanding partnership with the three agricultural schools in the Western Cape: Augsburg Agricultural Gymnasium in Clanwilliam, Boland Agricultural High School in Paarl, and Oakdale Agricultural High School in Riversdale.
Each year, Agri-Expo provides bursary awards to these schools, presented during their prize-giving ceremonies to learners who have excelled in both academic and agricultural disciplines.
Agri-Expo takes great pride in the exceptional quality of agricultural education delivered by these schools, which continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the agricultural sector in the Western Cape.
AGRI-EXPO STOCKMAN COMPETITION
The promotion of youth in agriculture, particularly through the organisation of agricultural competitions for young people, is a key aspect of Agri-Expo’s mandate.
In 2023, Agri-Expo, in collaboration with the Agri Malmesbury Sheep Study Group, became the partner of the Stockman Competition.
This competition, a longstanding annual event, is now known as the Agri-Expo Stockman Competition.
