Agriculture shines at exhibition awards

A win for agriculture, states agricultural society Agri-Expo about their exceptional achievement at this year’s ROAR exhibition industry awards.

The popular South African Cheese Festival as well as Agri-Expo Livestock were both honoured with prestigious awards, respectively for Best Consumer Exhibition and Best Trade and Consumer Exhibition (both in the category for over 12 000 m2). The awards function was held on 1 February 2018 by AAXO (Association of African Exhibition Organisers) in conjunction with EXSA (Exhibition Association of Southern Africa) at Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.

Agri-Expo has been hosting the SA Cheese Festival for the past 16 years and Agri-Expo Livestock for the past four years. According to Johan Ehlers, Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Expo, this recognition by experts in the exhibition industry is not only a feather in Agri-Expo’s cap for presenting quality events to the consumer, but also confirmation of the agricultural and agri-processing industries’ quality products as well as the high standard of exhibitions by agricultural institutions.

“It is an extraordinary achievement for two of our outdoor events that focus on agricultural products only to receive these accolades amongst all the other professional exhibitions. This further highlights our role as agricultural society to promote the image of agriculture. Our success in creating sustainable platforms for interaction between agriculture and consumers is only possible thanks to the contribution of every visitor, partner, exhibitor, participant, supplier and staff member,” says Ehlers.

The 2017 SA Cheese Festival and Agri-Expo Livestock competed against the cream of the exhibition industry in Southern Africa with other prominent category winners such as Agritech Expo Zambia 2017, Electra Mining Botswana, MamaMagic: The Baby Expo Winter, Property Buyer Show Gauteng, ILTM Africa, Decorex Cape Town, 100% Design, African Construction & Totally concrete, Madex and African Utility Week (awarded the best overall exhibition for 2017).

According to AAXO, not only was there an increase in quantity, but the quality of entries received this year was outstanding. The team of judges, consisting of prominent industry leaders and experts, was Talita Myburg (HOD, Activations and Experiential Marketing, Grey Group), Chantal Riley (Marketing Manager, Clockwork Media SA), Clinton Soutter (National Sales Manager, Franke South Africa), Charlene Olivier (Creative Director AMEA, Grey Group), Atul Todi (Co-founder and CEO, 10times), Lance Gibbons  (Publishing Editor, Film Event Media),  Tom Hall (Editor, Exhibition World) and Joey Pather (CEO, GIGEC China).

The 2018 SA Cheese Festival takes place from Friday, 27 April to Sunday, 29 April, and the 2018 Agri-Expo Livestock from Thursday 11 October to Saturday 13 October, at Sandringham, Stellenbosch. Details available on www.cheesefestival.co.za and www.livestock.org.za.

Landbou skitter by uitstaltoekennings

‘n Wen vir landbou. Só beskryf die landbougenootskap Agri-Expo hul uitsonderlike prestasie by vanjaar se ROAR-uitstalbedryftoekennings.

Volgens AAXO was daar vanjaar ‘n rekordgetal inskrywings van uitstaande gehalte. Die beoordelaars sluit leiers en kundiges in die bedryf in, naamlik Talita Myburg (Bemarkingshoof, Grey Advertising), Chantal Riley (Bemarkingsbestuurder, Clockwork Media), Clinton Souter, (Nasionale Verkoopsbestuurder, Franke), Charlene Olivier (Kreatiewe Direkteur AMEA, Grey Group), Atul Todi (Medestigter en HUB, 10times), Lance Gibbons  (Uitgewer-redakteur, Film Event Media),  Tom Hall (Redakteur, Exhibition World) en Joey Pather (HUB, GIGEC China).

Die 2018 SA Kaasfees vind plaas van Vrydag, 27 April tot Sondag, 29 April, en die 2018 Agri-Expo Livestock van Donderdag, 11 Oktober tot Saterdag, 13 Oktober, te Sandringham, Stellenbosch. Besonderhede is beskikbaar by www.cheesefestival.co.za en www.livestock.org.za.
